Understanding Thatched Roofs courses. These courses are run in our Village Hall that was built in 1490, it is thatched and we can go to the upstairs to see smoke blackened thatch and jointed oak crucks.
2. Weekend Thatching Courses: This practical weekend Thatching Course is for anyone who would like an unusual weekend break or gain an appreciation of the art of Thatching.
If you are interested in thatch come to glorious rural Devon, to unwind, and discover the ancient craft of Thatching ~ “hands on!” Being shown the straws by a retired Master Thatcher and experience great hospitality provided by Anna weekend break but you will be thatching on a roof frame in the barn. Using Water reed and Combed Wheat reed.

3. One Day courses to be held on Saturdays, where there will be up to 8 people who will be thatching all day using Combed Wheat Reed or Water Reed.
